Abstract
431,829. Tubular posts. PFISTERSHAMMER, J., 3, Johan von Werthstrasse, Munich, Germany. Dec. 5, 1934, No. 34954. Addition to 426,074. [Class 20 (i)] The overlapping sections a.. a<3> of the built-up tubular post described in the parent Specification are provided with longitudinal drainage and ventilating channels between the sockets. In the construction shown, t h e shoulders are formed by the overlapping longitudinal edges i, k of the sections which are rolled from sheet steel; the edges are welded or otherwise joined and are arranged so that the join of one section lies diametrically opposite those of the adjacent sections. The overlap of the edges may extend over the entire length of each section or over the socketed portions only, the rest of the tube, in the latter case, being butt welded. The tube is covered by a corrugated cap p and the uppermost section is fitted with detachable arms n the collars m of which are constructed like the tubes. In a modification, each section consists of two halves connected by two overlapping longitudinal seams, and in another modification, the longitudinal edges of each section are butt welded or overlapped and the shoulder is formed by a longitudinal strip loosely or rigidly mounted in the sockets.
