Abstract
431,125. Folding bedsteads. MALICKY, J. T., 42, Schanzstrasse, Vienna. Sept. 23, 1933, No. 26285. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, March 24, 1934]. [Class 52 (ii)] The folding legs of a bedstead are adapted upon lifting the bedstead to fall under the action of gravity to a position for use and held firmly in that position by struts. The legs e are pivoted to the bed frame at f and are engaged by the ends of struts g. which are pivoted at h. The end of each strut is bent over at i to apply a frictional grip to the leg and when this portion abuts against the cross piece k of the legs e, these are held firmly against collapse. The grip at i is released by lifting the struts and the legs can then be moved back to the folded position. In a modification, the struts at the pivot end are extended to provide a projecting end which engages the bed-frame at the extreme position and prevents any further swinging movement of the strut.
