[Class 36] An end-sleeve for single or multi-core cables filled or impregnated with oil or other filling or impregnating compound, comprises one or more layers 3, in the form of tape, and applied under tension, of an elastic and plastic oil and heat resisting material, the layers being applied without an intermediate adhesive. Layers 4 of a pressure - resisting material, such as varnished tape, may be interspersed between the layers 3, which may comprise polymers of acrylic acid, derivatives of acrylic acid such as acrylic acid esters or homologues thereof, or polyvinyl compounds separately or mixed together.
