Abstract

1409246 Laminated adhesive tape JAMES BARNES Ltd 11 Oct 1972 [9 Oct 1971] 47096/71 Heading B5N [Also in Division B8] A laminated adhesive tape comprises a first lamina having an adhesive backing thereon and a second lamina which is reinforced so as to be of greater strength than the first lamina, which are so bonded together that the bond strength is less than the bonding strength of the adhesive backing, whereby the reinforced lamina may be removed after application of the tape. At least one, and preferably each, of the laminµ comprises a paper strip, the bond being between such strip and the other lamina. As shown, a paper strip 1 having a contact adhesive backing is bonded to a second lamina comprising a paper strip 2 and waterproof paper 3 bonded together and enclosing parallel reinforcing natural or synthetic textile filaments 4. The paper 3 may be waterproofed by impregnating or coating with wax.
