Abstract

A gummed tape comprises a strip of paper which is creped lengthwise and coated on at least one side with a water-activatable adhesive. The strip of paper may also be creped crosswise. One or more strands, yarns or threads of nylon, sisal, hemp, cotton, plastics or other materials may be attached to the tape lengthwise by imbedding them in the water-activatable adhesive or by laminating them between the strip of paper and another strip of paper or like material. The other strip is preferably paper which is creped lengthwise and coated with water-activatable adhesive.
