Abstract
428,725. Dispensing beer &c. FOX, C. E., 114, Cheyne Walk, Chelsea, London. March 23, 1934, No. 9113. [Class 116] [See also Group VI] When drawing off beer &c. from casks or other containers, carbon dioxide under low pressure is used instead of atmospheric air in the cask &c. in place of the liquid drawn off. The vents of the various casks are coupled at L to a pipe-line K connected by a tube J to a vessel A which is charged at low pressure (about ¢ lb. per square inch) from a bottle E of compressed carbon dioxide by way of reducing valves G, pressure gauges H being fitted. The vessel A is provided with stopcocks B, I and with a drain D for removing liquid of condensation. The use of carbon dioxide instead of air in the casks is stated to prevent the beer from becoming flat.
