[Class 21] A resilient peg or bung used to close test tubes containing bacteriological media has recesses 14 in its lower end so that during sterilization, vapour may force the bung upwardly until the recesses emerge above the tube edge permitting its escape. Ribs 15 retain the bung in the tube. The bung may be hollow.
