427,377. Sliding - clasp fastenings. ROBERTS, H. L., ROBERTS, R. G., and ROGERS, A. J., 5, Cork Street, Burlington Gardens, London. July 20, 1934, No. 21291. [Class 44] [See also Group VII] For the butting closure of slit openings, such as those below the knee of riding breeches, a sliding-clasp fastener has one stringer 3a together with a protective backing 5, attached at the edge of one side 1 of the slit, while the other stringer 3b is attached underneath the other side 2 of the slit and at such a distance from the edge that the fastener is overlapped and the free end of this other side of the slit can be fastened to the backing 5 by a press stud 9, 10, which also secures the slider 6 of the sliding-clasp fastening by passing through an aperture in a step-shaped pull-tab 8. The invention can be applied to fly and pocket openings, leggings, and cushion covers.
