Abstract
402,334. Elastic waistbands for garments. MAUSER-WERKE AKT.-GES., Oberndorf, Germany. May 1, 1933, Nos. 12641 and 12642. Convention dates, June 29, 1932 and Sept. 21, 1932. [Class 141.] An elastic waistband for garments such as knickers and the like, comprises a raw rubber band b, Fig. 12, held freely in a fold a of extensible material by means of elastic stitching c which runs along the edge of the fold a and does not pierce the band b. Elastic stitching with or without an insertion may also be provided at the upper edge of the band. In a modification, the waistband is subdivided, and the rubber bands are either inserted in a common fold, Fig. 9, or in separate folds, Figs. 2 and 4, elastic stitching in both cases running between the bands b which are also held in position by elastic stitching c connecting the fold or folds with the knickers or the like. An intermediate strip h, Fig. 9, of elastic material may be sewn in between the rubber bands b, and elastic stitching i with or without an insertion k may be provided at the upper border of the material.
