[Classes 112 and 141] [See also Group XXV] An elastic rubber holding band comprising a rubber band 1 and an ornamental stitch 2, 4, 5, 14, 17 running in the longitudinal direction of the rubber band and possessing thread interlacings that are mutually slidable on one another is connected by the ornamental stitch with a piece of fabric 8, 12, e.g. part of a pullover, garter, stocking, &c. The band 1 may be single thickness or more, Fig. 1, there may be more than one band, Fig. 8, secured to the same fabric by separate ornamental stitches, Fig. 8, or a single band may be secured by more than one ornamental stitch, Fig. 12. The band may be circular when applied to a stocking &c. Fig. 18a, and may have serrated edges as shown in Fig. 16a which are engaged by the top and bottom sections of the ornamental stitch. There may be an additional securing stitch 6, 15 which pierces the band 1. The fabric may cover one or both sides of the band 1. Specification 445,387 is referred to.
