Abstract

478,472. Overcoats &c. SAWTELL, W.P. April 5, 1937, No. 9579. [Class 141] An overcoat, raincoat, or like garment, having a rear vent, slit 2 is provided with a flap 3 which is secured permanently along one longitudinal side to one edge of the slit 2, the free longitudinal side of the flap being provided with press stud elements 8 which coact with complementary press stud elements 9 provided on the inner surface of the coat at the opposed edge of the slit to close the same, or with complementary press stud elements 10 provided on the inner surface of the coat adjacent the edge of the slit to which the flap is secured permanently, when it is desired to have the slit open. The press studs may be replaced by buttons and buttonholes, clips, sliding-clasp fasteners, or any other suitable fastening means.
