Abstract

426,562. Windscreen - cleaners. HOWARD, W. H., 3, Broad Court Chambers, Bow Street, London. Oct. 3, 1933, No. 27183. [Classes 19 and 138 (i)] A rubber squeegee blade 5 for cleaning the outside of a windscreen and a blade 11 having a rubber core covered with material of moisture-collecting absorbent nature for cleaning the inside of the screen are mounted coaxially on a spindle 10. The inner blade may comprise layers 12 of rubber held in a metal frame and covered by a strip of absorbent cotton fabric clamped in place by clips 14. Other absorbent materials are rubber sponge, wash leather or other textile materials. The blades 5, 11 are oscillated by a motor 1 through the medium of a connecting rod 4 and a wiper blade 3. The blade 11 may be connected to the spindle 10 whereby it may be disconnected when not required and held in a position outside the line of vision.
