425,352. Retreading tyres. GILL, H. A., 51, Chancery Lane, London.-(Super Mold Corporation; 420, North Sacramento Street, Lodi, California, U.S.A.) Sept. 1, 1933, No. 29743/34. Divided out of 424,849. [Class 70] In retreading a tyre, the tyre is placed in a mould comprising two separable sections 2, 2, which extend considerably more than halfway round the cross-section of the tyre, and then either (a) the tyre is inflated and the rim beads allowed to move apart or one of the rims is allowed to move away from the other, the rim beads being then fixed in position, or (b) the beads are adjusted laterally and the tyre is then inflated. The result is to cause the tyre to fit closely to the mould, whereby tyres varying from the theoretically correct dimensions may be accommodated. Vulcanization is then effected. The apparatus shown which includes a rim 9 having an adjustabe flange 11 forms the subject-matter of Specification 424,849. A number of rims having different width may be used to obtain the same result.
