Abstract
423,390. Valve circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, DUNHAM, C. R., and LEWER, S. K., c/o General Electric Co., Wembley, Middlesex. Nov. 29, 1933, No. 33482. Drawings to Specification. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v)] A circuit arrangement adapted to operate with a frequency exceeding 1,000 cycles per second, more particularly as a relaxation oscillation generator, comprises a gas-filled triode valve with an external anode. The generated oscillation may provide the time-base of a cathode-ray oscillograph and the external anode enables the circuit to operate at a higher frequency than a circuit employing the usual valve with all the electrodes within a glass envelope. The external anode forming part of the envelope is preferably of copper and its diameter may be 14 mm. The grid control ratio may be about 25. The filling may be mercury vapour maintained by a globule of mercury, or it may be helium at about À5 mm. pressure. Specifications 192,673, [Class 39 (i)], and 418,828 are referred to.
