Abstract

423,126. Fuel injectors. GARDNER & SONS, Ltd., L., and GARDNER, J. H. S., Barton Hall Engine Works, Patricroft, Manchester. Dec. 13, 1933, No. 35062. [Class 7 (iii)] To prevent overheating of the injector nozzle, a fuel injector is provided with a composite nozzle fitting formed by a hardened steel or like inner sleeve b in which the valve a seats, and an outer sleeve c of copper bronze, or other material of higher thermal conductivity than the material of the inner sleeve, the sleeves being a force fit. Both sleeves are held against the injector body d by a screwed cap e of bronze, which assists in the conduction of heat from the nozzle to the body d.
