408,875. Cylinders. GARDNER & SONS, Ltd., L., and GARDNER, J. H. S., Barton Hall Engine Works, Patricroft, Manchester. Sept. 20, 1933, No. 25971. [Class 7 (ii).] A plate a, having valve seats formed therein, which is clamped between a light metal cylinder head and the block, is held, during manipulation prior to assembly, by a bushing k, for the liquid-fuel injection device, the bushing being pressed or screwed into the plate which is preferably made of a hard bronze alloy. The plate is located by a grub screw f<1>, or by arranging the bushing k eccentrically. It may extend over the whole block and have holes through which the cylinder head retaining studs pass.
