Abstract
423,097. Road-kerbs; blocks. UNIVERSAL RUBBER PAVIORS, Ltd., and GAISMAN, L., Canning Street, Audenshaw, Manchester. June 24, 1933, No. 18050. [Classes 87 (i) and 107] Blocks for kerbing comprise a base d, of concrete, brick, or like material, and a corner cap a of rubber permanently attached there to, the cap forming the outer face of the kerb adjacent the road and its top being flush with and forming a part of the pavement. Tc render the kerb easily distinguishable, the caps may be yellow, amber, white, or any other suitable colour or combinations of colours. The caps have an undersurface of harder rubber than the exposed surfaces and are keyed to the bases by circular dovetail projections c also of hard rubber. In one method of making a unit having a concrete base, the cap is first moulded and vulcanized and then placed into a mould for the remaining part of the block. In an alternative method, the base is first moulded and a rubber cap is then vulcanized on to it.
