Abstract
For use in the catalytic production of hydrogen from carbon monoxide and steam, burnt pyrites are extracted with water or with very dilute alkali or acid, and are subsequently impregnated with alkali, e.g. strong potash solution. An advantage of the product is that it decomposes organic sulphur compounds in the gases under treatment.
