Abstract

420,216. Foot-arch supports. CRIDLAND, H. J., 26, King Square, and KNIGHT, A. G., 4, Stackpool Road, Southville, both in Bristol. May 31, 1934, No. 16213. [Class 81 (ii)] An insole for permanent embodiment in a boot or shoe comprises two layers of leather or other material, 5, 6, connected together, for example by stitching 9, at the locality of the foot joint to form a complete pocket in which, through an incision 14 in the upper layer 5, a resilient or other foot-supporting pad 12 may be inserted and adjusted. The pad may have attached to it a piece of tape 13 to facilitate its removal and adjustment. A sock 20 with side extensions in the shank may be secured in the boot &c. to cover the insole. A line of stitching 15 may form a pocket for a heel pad and a pocket may be formed between the lines of stitching 9, 15 at each side of the waist for the insertion of filling pieces 18.
