418,264. Crushers with vibrating jaws. KEET, T. W., 20, Victoria Buildings, Commissioner Street, Johannesburg, South Africa. Nov. 30, 1933, No. 33687. Convention date, Nov. 7. [Class 59.] A jaw crusher comprises a jaw 3 pivoted at 12 at its lower end and means 14 for continuously reciprocating its upper end, a second jaw 2 pivoted at 8 at its upper end and means 10 for reciprocating the lower end of the second jaw at a higher frequency than the first jaw. As shown, the lower end of the jaw 2 is operated by an eccentric 9 and pitman 10 whilst the upper end of the jaw 3 is operated by an eccentric 13 and pitman 14. The eccentrics are driven through chain &c. gear, the eccentric 9 being driven faster than 13 to produce more reciprocations at the discharge end of the jaws.
