Abstract

417,878. Generating mixtures of combustion products and hot air under prepare. GORELY, C., Bluebell Cottage, Radfall Ride, near Whitstable, and KING, E. W. N., Northleach, Joy Lane, Whitstable, Kent. April 18, 1933, No 11320. [Class 51 (i).] A working fluid for prime movers is generated in an elongated heating and mixing chamber 1 having a tapered outlet 2 and supplied with compressed air from a valve controlled pipe 12 projecting through a shaft or stack 7 of a furnace 8 and through an opening 1<a> at one end of the chamber 1. The compressed air is heated by the furnace gases which are drawn into the chamber 1 by the compressed air and mixed therewith before passing through the nozzle 2 to the prime mover. Additional fuel may be supplied to the chamber 1 through the pipe 14 controlled by valves 15 and 16.
