Abstract
294,797. Dunlop, C. H., and Fox, F. Sept. 26, 1927. Combustion-product plant. - In a plant comprising a combustion chamber 3 lined with refractory material 6 and an engine 8 driving an air compressor 13, the compressed air passing to the chamber 3 through the tubes of a heat exchanger 2 heated by exhaust gases from the engine, the gases from the chamber 3 are mixed with a regulated supply of cool air before admission to the engine cylinder. As shown, the compressor 13 supplies a reservoir 1 connected to the heat exchanger and the combustion chamber by pipes 17, 18 provided with valves 19, 20. The combustion chamber is supplied with liquid fuel under pressure by a reservoir 4 connected to the compressedair pipe. The engine 8 has a slide valve 11 actuated by an eccentric 12 on the engine shaft 10.
