417,736. Transformers. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Soc. Generale de Constructions Electriques et Mecaniques (Als-Thom); 38, Avenue Kleber, Paris.) Nov. 17, 1933, No. 32128. Convention date, Nov. 17, 1932. [Class 38 (ii).] A transformer, particularly adapted for welding, has three magnetic limbs one of which, 1, carries the primary and secondary windings 2 and 3 arranged in high mutual inductive relationship, the second 5, is hinged to the main core at 7 and carries a reactance 6 which is preferably connected in the primary circuit and the third, 4, serves to close the magnetic circuits of the other two limbs. The air gaps between the limb 5 and the main core may be varied by means of a screw 8 or an equivalent device, to regulate the secondary current and voltage and the secondary winding may be divided into two sections which can be connected in series or parallel.
