Abstract

417,535. Weft-feeler arrangements for looms. CARVER, T. A. B., Llongdin, Linley Road, Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire. April 19, 1933, No. 11406. [Class 142 (iii).] Weft-feeler mechanism for effecting stoppage of a loom or initiating shuttle change, comprises a feeler F which is pivoted to a housing H within the shuttle and is urged into contact with the weft on the bobbin by a spring on its supporting spindle K. The housing H is carried by two springs I extending from a slidably mounted carriage S and supports one limb of a U-shaped member M, the other limb L of which is shaped to engage the base of the bobbin. On exhaustion of weft a contact G on the member F engages the limb L to complete an electric circuit, both members being connected to terminals on the shuttle body. Accurate positioning of the limb L is obtained by connecting the member M to tubes P which are urged against the bobbin by springs R. Specification 345,325, [Group XXIV], is referred to.
