Abstract

417,299. Linear-dimension gauges; screw gauges. MULLER, O. M., 41, Bahnhofstrasse, Lichterfelde, Berlin. Feb. 2, 1934, No. 3490. [Class 106 (ii).] A ring or plug gauge adjustable for wear comprises a continuous unslotted hollow-gauge element having an external or internal surface in contact throughout substantially its whole periphery with a counter element adapted to be adjusted so as elastically to expand or contract the gauge element. Fig. 1 shows a plug gauge comprising a hollow cylindrical gauge element a and a coned counter element b engaging a coned internal surface of the element a, a nut d being used to displace the element b axially for the required adjustment. A similar adjustment is used for an internal screw-thread gauge. Fig. 5 shows an external screw gauge element e adjusted by a counter element f and screwthreaded bolts g. The split counter element l, Fig. 7, may be contracted or expanded by a tangential bolt n to adjust the unslotted gauge element k.
