Abstract

416,137. Stays; ball joints. BARTON, P. C., Granville Iron Works, Ruston Street, Birmingham. May 12, 1933, No. 13810. [Classes 65 (i) and 65 (ii).] In a casement stay of the kind attached to the casement by a ball on the inner end of the stay working in a socketed bracket fixed on the window, the bracket consists of a flat plate-like attachment part having a pair of opposed cuplike lugs integral therewith and projecting outwardly therefrom. In the form shown, the stay a has notches in its lower edge for engagement with the lower part of a guide c<2> swivelly mounted on the window frame. The inner end of the stay is formed with a ball a<1> which is embraced by two cup-like lugs b<2> bent forward from a plate b fixed to the casement.
