[Class 126.] In a gas fire, the radiants are held in position or located by projecting elements mounted on the structure of the gas fire and engaging in slots or grooves in the sides of the radiants. In the form shown in Fig. 1, a vertical or inclined rod 5 mounted on a boss 7 on the burner tube engages in grooves 3 in adjacent sides of the radiants 1. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, each radiant 9 has one or more hooks 10 engaging with a rod 11 and recess 12 at the back of a fire. Flat nibs 15 on the burner tube locate the radiants relative to the burner nozzles 8<1> by engaging in slots 14 in the sides of the radiants. The rod 11 may be of metal or refractory material, or may be integral with or incorporated in the fireback 13. The recess 12 may extend all across the back, or only at intervals. The radiant may have two hooks and be recessed at the back above them, or may be solid with the hooks in one piece or with a number of hooks across the back.
