[Class 109.] A wire or cable for use in capturing whales comprises a steel core 1, an insulating layer 2, and one or more layers 3 of soft, inelastic material such as hemp. The layer 3 may be plaited or laid. Its steel core 1 may be replaced by a core of steel wire intertwined with copper wire, or by copper surrounded by steel, or by steel surrounded by copper.
