Abstract

404,245. Cables. BROWN, W., 89, Douglas Street, Glasgow. Sept. 11, 1933, No. 25077. [Class 36.] A fluid-cooled cable comprises conductors 2 distributed around a permeable tube 1 through which oil, water, air, or other cooling fluid is passed, the conductors being surrounded by an impermeable sheath 3, preferably of lead, over which a wrapping 4 of insulating material is applied. A metallic sheath 5 completes the cable. The permeable tube 1 may be in the form of a perforated tube of soft copper, or may consist of a leaky flexible metallic tube.
