Abstract

414,355. Footstools ; leg - rests. CARRINGTON MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and CARRINGTON, F. D., Camco Works, Sanderstead Road, South Croydon. Jan. 31, 1933, No. 2976. [Class 52 (ii).] A footstool comprises a box-like body portion 10 closed by a seat 11, which may be upholstered, capable of being turned from its normally horizontal position so as to form a support for the legs of a seated person. The seat 11 normally rests on the ends of the body of the boxlike stool 10, and is adapted to pivot on dowels 14 secured in blocks 12 on the seat and extending into grooves between a moulding 15 and blocks 16 on the body. Depressions 17 are provided to receive the dowels. When the seat 11 is tilted with the position shown in Fig. 2, it rests at one end on the bottom 19 of the body, and the inclined end 18 forms a rest for the user's feet.
