413,924. Regulating dynamos. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET, Võsteras, Sweden. Nov. 6, 1933, No. 30786. Convention date, Oct. 9. [Class 35.] Exciting.-A single armature counter-compound wound welding generator has two field systems spaced along the armature, one series excited, and the excitation of the other depends partly on the generator voltage and partly on that of an independent source. In the form shown, the opposing series winding SM1, SM2, SM3 with the small winding HM2 is placed on the auxiliary field system whilst the main winding HM1 on the main system is energized through a potentiometer P1, P2 connected to the armature A1 and to an exciter A2. The number of series turns is variable and when a maximum, a counter compound winding SM5 on the main system is also effective, whilst a cumulative compound winding SM4 on the main system is effective when section SM2 is cut out. In a modified form the exciter with a resistance is connected in parallel with the generator and the main field winding is connected between the common terminal of the two machines and an intermediate point on the resistance.
