[Class 7 (ii).] The colour of an incandescent tube b indicates the temperature inside the combustion chamber a. In a Diesel engine, as shown, the device is inserted in the socket for the incandescent plug used prior to starting, and facilitates the timing of the fuel injection. The tube is made of steel or bronze.
