Abstract

413,127. Electric incandescent lamps. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Prideaux, G. F. ; 1187, Plainfield Road, South Euclid, Ohio, U.S.A.) July 31, 1933, No. 21495. Convention date, July 29, 1932. [Class 39 (ii).] An electric lamp comprises a bulb 10 of glass or other vitreous material containing an electric light source 11, leading-in conductors 13 sealed in the bulb and extending outside at 20, 21 and a casing 22 of thermoplastic material moulded about the conductors 20, 21 and covering substantially the whole of the bulb surface. The terminal supports 21 are supported in the casing, which may be screw-threaded at 27 to carry a side terminal 29 and an end terminal 28. Lamps may be connected in series each having a conductor wire at opposite ends embedded in the casing. The casing may be a synthetic resin such as are formed by the reactions between urea or thio-urea and formaldehyde and known under the trade name "Elaskon" and the Registered Trade Mark "Beetle," or such as the phenol-formaldehyde condensation resins known under the Registered Trade Marks " Bakelite " and "Durite." Cellulose compounds such as the acetate nitrate or benzoate may be used, or shellac or varnish with a filler, hard rubber, celluloid or casein products.
