Abstract
411,756. Rolling. SCHLOEMANN AKT.-GES., 13, Freiherr-vom-Steinstrasse, and GASSEN, J., 34, Dusseldorferstrasse, Oberkassel, both in Dusseldorf, Germany. Nov. 24, 1933, No. 32875. [Class 83 (iv).] The roll 1 of a universal mill is driven by worm 5 from a motor 6 which also drives the other rolls 2, 3 through bevel gears 7. The rolls and the motor 6 being mounted in a housing 8 in an arcuate frame 9 so that the whole unit can be adjusted slightly around the axis of the pass to offset it from the previous roll pass, to roll out the fins formed on the work in the previous pass. Roll-cooling liquid is supplied through admission funnels and flows by a channel to a collecting tank and is then filtered and pumped up again to the rolls.
