Abstract

411,753. Vacuum cleaners. HOOVER, Ltd., Perivale, Greenford, Middlesex.-(Hoover Co. ; North Canton, Ohio, U.S.A.) Nov. 20, 1933, No. 32279. [Class 8 (i).] The hollow tubular agitator A of a vacuum cleaner has a longitudinal spindle and contains a brush the back of which is situated to one side of the spindle while the bristles project through a slot in the circumference. The brush may be adjusted longitudinally by a lever H, Fig. 1 or by turning the brush end to end, R. Fig. 2, the engagements of the ends with abutments within the agitator being at different distances from the circumference in the two positions. Helical ribs B are provided.
