410,335. Finishing fabrics. PICKARD, F. H., 23, The Avenue, Roundhay, Leeds. June 26, 1933, No. 18117. [Class 42 (i).] Pressing.-In a flat pressing machine wherein a plurality of layers of fabric 6 separated by sheets of paper &c. 9<x> pass through each of the several nips of the press, the rods &c. 10 carrying. the press papers and the cloth feed and delivery rolls 8 are so mounted and moved that the cloth is not subjected to undue tension during pressing. As shown, the rods and rollers 8, 10 are mounted on plates 11 pivoted at 12 and linked at their bottom ends to the bottom press plate 4 so that when the press is closed the rods and rolls are drawn together. In modifications, the plates 11 slide vertically and horizontally.
