Abstract

410,019. Electric incandescent lamps. STEAETIT-MAGNESIA AKT. - GES., 8, Flora Strasse, Pankow, Berlin. Nov. 8, 1933, No. 31151. Convention date, Nov. 23, 1932. [Class 39 (ii).] The pinch, cap or other member through which the leading-in wires of a discharge tube pass, consists wholly or mainly of a ceramically-shaped and denselypressed mass of magnesium silicate, preferably free from alkali. Such material has low dielectric loss. Talc or soapstone, for example, a mass consisting of 90 per cent of G÷pfersgr³n soapstone and 10 per cent of other material or flux, may be used. The wires may be fused directly into the pinch 1 or may be inserted through holes, the ends of which are enlarged to receive glass tubes 4 or metal seals fused about the wires. The pinch has a rim 2 to which the envelope is sealed.
