Abstract
409,308. Gas burners. BORNKESSEL, P., 16, Bahnstrasse, S³dende, Berlin. July 25, 1932, No. 5955/34. Divided on 409,328. [Class 75 (i).] The mouthpiece 1 has one or more main outlet passages 5 extending directly through it and surrounded by subsidiary outlet passages 6 through which gaseous mixture passes at reduced pressure for feeding auxiliary flames. As shown, the gaseous mixture passes from the chamber 2 through an annular passage 9, transverse passages 11 and an annular channel 8 having an enlargement 10 to the passages 6. In a modification the passages 9, 11 and 6 are replaced by two series of slots in the top and bottom edges of the mouthpiece respectively. The mouthpiece is held in position by a tube 14 screwed or slid on the casing 3 provided with a mixing-device as described in Specification 409,328. A number of burners may be detachably connected to common air and gas supply pipes or common air, oxygen and gas supply pipes. In the latter case the air is entrained by the oxygen and the gas by the mixed air and oxygen. In both cases, the supplies to each burner are independently regulable.
