409,230. Electric hand - irons. AMMANN, H. KNECHT-, Wilen, near Wil, Switzerland. Nov. 8, 1933, No. 31091. Convention date, Nov. 9, 1932. [Class 138 (ii).] Water is admitted to the steam-generating space c, Fig. 4, of an electric hand-iron from an overhead tank e, Fig. 1, through a pipe d. The generator communicates with a superheating chamber h, Fig. 4, through a pipe g and a valve k is positioned between the superheater and the apertured distributing chamber m. The valve is normally closed by a spring s and is opened by means of a rod t, Fig. 2, slidably mounted in the handle b and operating a lever u pivoted in a bracket x. The heating element z is positioned between the chambers c and h, Fig. 4.
