Abstract

In a process for producing magnetic material in the form of thin wires or ribbons, especially for the loading of communication lines, an iron-nickel alloy is cold-worked, rolled and/or drawn without intermediate annealing, into the thickness finally used with a reduction in thickness of at least one-tenth. The material is annealed in hydrogen at a temperature of 700-900 DEG C. before the working and may be carried out on partly worked material. The alloy may also contain copper and alloys containing 30-50 per cent of nickel and 6-11 of copper are referred to.
