408,656. Television. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Marconi House, Strand, London.-(Assignees of Kell, R. D.; 102, Jess Avenue, Haddonleigh, New Jersey, U.S.A.) Sept. 8, 1932, No. 25079. Convention date, Sept. 26, 1931. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v).] In a television receiver, the picture signals are rectified and used to control the intensity of reproduction. As applied to a cathode ray receiver, the picture signals derived from a resistance 11, are rectified by valve 21, the output being superposed upon the grid 12 to control the background brilliancy. Alternatively the rectified signals may be applied to the grid of a thermionic amplifier feeding a neon lamp. Fig. 4 (not shown). Specification 395,499 is referred to.
