Abstract

446,663. Television. BLUMLEIN, A. D., 7, Courtfield Gardens, Ealing, London. Sept. 4, 1934, No. 25498. [Class 40 (iii)] In a television receiver, the light is maintained at a low value for received signals exceeding a predetermined amplitude. As applied to a cathode ray receiver, the rectified signals at terminals 1 are applied to control a cathode ray over a potentiometer 2 and are fed to a limiting valve 7 so that signals in the " whiter than white " sense, such as synchronizing or interfering signals, produce impulses in the anode circuit which are applied to reduce the cathode ray intensity. In a modification, the picture signals are delayed relatively to the signals from the limiting valve, and the receiver is modified to co-operate with a transmitter sending the direct-current modulation component, Fig. 2 (not shown).
