[Class 44.] A securing-ring for the lids of metal drums consists of a ring 1 of synclastic curvature embracing interengaging curls on the lid and body and carrying two lugs 2 on the ends projecting inwardly and hinged at 3 or provided with a pin-and-slot connexion. The lugs are apertured at 4 to take the bearings 5 of swivel nuts 6 which are threaded in opposite sense and receive a turn-buckle 7 rotatable by a tommy-bar inserted in an aperture 8.
