Abstract

406,489. Heating oil and fuel at starting. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.- (Assignees of Randolph, C. P. ; 727, Columbian Avenue, Oak Park, Illinois, U.S.A.) March 15, 1933, No. 7874. Convention date, March 15, 1932. [Class 7 (iii).] Fuel from a float chamber 14 is supplied by a pipe 23 to an auxiliary chamber 21 where it is vaporized by a heater such as an electric heater 24 before mixing with air in a passage 15, the heater being switched off by a thermostat 28, preferably on the induction manifold, when the engine has become warm. Simultaneously, a heater 25 in the oil sump of the crank case, heats the lubricating oil until the thermostat operates to switch it off. Specification 144,767, [Class 37], is referred to.
