Abstract
406,108. Stays ; hinges. MASON, P. G., and COLEMAN, H. S., (trading as MASON & CO.), St. George's Street, Birming- ham. Nov. 30, 1932, No. 33863. [Classes 65 (i) and 65 (ii).] In a folding stay, for perambulator and like hoods, of the type having the arms connected by a knuckle joint and having a handle for opening and closing the stay, the handle is secured to an attachment lug or ear extending from, and forming an integral part of, a spacing washer which is included in the knuckle joint. In the form shown, the stay comprises two arms a provided with U-section pieces b, b<1> fixed to their ends and connected by a joint pin c, the piece b fitting between the webs of the piece b<1>. A spacing washer d is provided on the pin between the webs of the member b and has a lug d<2> extending through a slot in the member b<1>, and the handle e, which is of U-section and has its attachment end formed to bear on the surface of the member b<1>, is attached by rivets f to the lug d<2> of the washer d.
