Abstract
344,207. Eyeglasses. JACKSON, F. H., 70, Archway Road, Highgate, London. Feb. 26, 1930, No. 6328. [Class 97 (i).] In eyeglasses provided with placquets and having a bridge which is hinged so that the lenses can be folded bookwise, i.e. about an axis or axes in the plane of the lenses, the placquets are mounted so as to swivel about axes also in the plane of the lenses to permit them to be turned parallel to the said plane before the eyeglasses are folded. As shown the bridge is formed in two parts 1, 2 pivoted to the ends of a link 3. The guards 12 secured at their upper ends in boxes 9 are made cylindrical at the lower ends 13 and are passed through tubular portions 14 on the placquets 15 so that the placquets can swivel thereon. The opening of the placquets is limited by stops 16.
