Abstract
342,468. Spectacles. HILLS, A. J., 178, Framfield Road, Hanwell, and CLARKE, C., 16, Wigmore Street, both in London. Dec. 19, 1929, No. 38978. [Class 97 (i).] Folding spectacles are provided with a bridge piece A the ends of which are hinged to the corresponding frame D, E respectively in such a manner that they fold about an axis in the plane of the frames. Folding side-pieces F are also fitted, being arranged in staggered relation to fold inside the two frames when collapsed, clear of one another. The bridge piece A is of such length as to permit the folded sides to lie between the frames. The various joints may be provided with concealed springs to cause the complete assembly to be selferecting, and catches fitted to maintain the spectacles in the folded position.
