Abstract

340,613. Spectacles. EGLINTON, W. D., 100, Lower Addiscombe Road, Croydon. Oct. 4, 1929, No. 30153. [Class 97 (i).] Folding spectacles, of the kind wherein the eyepieces are adapted to be folded about hinges so that in the closed position one lies behind the other, are provided with a rigid bridge so hinged to the eyepieces that when in the open position for use the eyepieces are in the same plane. The eyepieces are hinged to the bridge 2 on pins 7 disposed angularly with respect to the eyepieces and the bridge, closing into the position shown in Fig. 4 and opening as shown in Fig. 5 so that when in position for use the two eyepieces are in the same plane. In one form the bridge is hinged to fitments which are secured to the eyepieces. Specification 335,909, [Class 97 (i), Optical systems &c.], is referred to.
