Abstract

404,315. Bottle stoppers; protective devices for bottles. BAKER, J. S. ST. B., 41, Boelyn Road, Dalston Junction, London. July 8, 1932, No. 19385. [Classes 125 (i) and 125 (iii).] Consists of a combination container and bottle in which the bottle is of a size substantially to fill completely the interior of the container and is readily withdrawable therefrom for separate use when a stopper, which is common both to the container and to the bottle in that it serves as the closure member both of the container and of the bottle, whether separate or combined, is withdrawn. As shown in Fig. 1 the stopper 3, which may be of synthetic resin, rubber, or like material is provided with internal and external screw threads, but it may be provided with internal or external threads only, being a push fit in the mouth of the container 1 or on the mouth of the bottle 2 respectively. Various kinds of push fit stoppers are described ; as shown in Fig. 5, a stopper is a push fit both in and on the container and bottle. The engaging surfaces of the stopper may be coated with lacquer or other friction reducing material. A pad may be fitted between the bases of the container and bottle and the container may be padded around its walls.
