[Class 61 (ii).] A table or bench, e.g., for assorting tinplates comprises a vertically-movable platform supported and arranged so that the height of a pile of articles placed thereon, measured from the floor, remains substantially constant, irrespective of the number or weight of the articles. Fig. 1 shows a table comprising two platforms A, A<1> supported on pillars D, D<1> by springs H, H<1>, and supporting piles K, K<1>. The compression of the springs may be adjusted by nuts J, J<1>.
